Duties: Extended Managing Director with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in San Francisco, California within the Investment Banking division as Head of West Coast Derivatives.

Responsibilities include: managing existing client relationships, developing new client relationships, generating revenue, and identifying potential Foreign Exchange ("FX"), interest rate ("IR"), debt financing and other cross-product opportunities; collaborating with Investment Banking colleagues regionally and globally, and provide cross-divisional connectivity between IBD / Financing Group and Securities / IMD; directly managing a team of three (3) professional employees (2 Vice Presidents and 1 Analyst), with additional responsibilities and managerial involvement across broader team that includes New York-based employees; and overseeing the team in applying mathematical and quantitative techniques and models in order to advise and assist U.S.-based clients in understanding and identifying sources and measurements of risk exposure in the various currency markets.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline such as Engineering.
  • Nine (9) years of experience in the job offered or related corporate derivatives, financing and investment banking position.
  • Prior work experience must include nine (9) years of experience with: managing financial transactions in excess of $1billion in notional and generate revenue opportunities in excess of $10million; analyzing M&A deal risk related to deal contingent FX and interest rate risk management associated with acquisitions and disposals; performing credit analysis on a counterparty to determine risk associated with large derivative exposures (in excess of $100mm of potential exposure; identifying, structuring and presenting innovative hedging opportunities in currency and interest rate markets to clients; providing risk solutions to clients that requires cross-regional collaboration; overseeing the creation and modification of financial tools and models in order to synthesize hedging strategies and quantify risk; collaborating with credit and legal teams to prepare necessary documentation for clients; and supervising the work of junior professionals and reviewing and analyzing performance.
  • Prior experience must include seven (7) years of experience with managing and building client relationships and dialogue across both corporate and sponsor clients, including large global market cap clients across the West Coast.
  • Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with developing a transaction banking and FX payments product for corporate clients.
  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses required.
  • Travel required (primarily domestic) approximately 40 to 50% of the time in order to attend client meetings.
